From unassuming privateer to one of the world’s best enduro riders, Jonny Walker has experienced a lot during the last decade. Nowhere have those experiences been more rewarding, and in some cases agonising, than at the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo.
The Red Bull Romaniacs is renowned as one of the toughest enduro events on the planet, and the 2019 race was no exception. A struggle from start to finish, the event saw riders endure four full days of competition in the Romanian hills following the opening day’s prologue in the local town of Sibiu.
Since the arrival of KTM’s TPI models for 2018, the evolution and development of these fuel injected 2-strokes has been ongoing and a “steep learning curve”. The Red Bull Romaniacs, now in its 15th year, is known as the toughest hard enduro rally and marking the halfway point of this year´s World Enduro Super Series.
Jonny Walker certainly is one of the best enduro riders worldwide. The British ace currently tops the standings of the World Enduro Super Series as the next and fourth round – the Red Bull Romaniacs – is underway.
It only seems like yesterday that Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Josep Garcia was crowned Enduro2 World Champion. But with KTM turning their attentions to the newly formed World Enduro Super Series, the young Spaniard is busy preparing for an altogether new challenge in 2018.
KTM’s Factory Enduro stars are READY TO RACE WESS. A brand-new series that searches for the ultimate enduro champion, the World Enduro Super Series kicks off on May 11 at the Extreme XL Lagares in Portugal – one of many events in which the amateur race the pros in the true spirit of Enduro.
