KTM 1290 SUPER ADVENTURE R: Definitely not for dreamers

KTM’s roots are in the dirt of off-road racing. To make your mark in that world you really need to have a particular type of screw loose. The KTM crew have managed to retain their crazy side year after year and produce a string of bikes that are quintessentially KTM. Who else could have come up with the idea of a DUKE? Stefan Pierer KTM RC16 Red Bull Ring Spielberg (AUT) 2016

Stefan Pierer talks his own two wheels

There was clear emotion in KTM CEO Stefan Pierer’s voice last week with the presentation of the company’s MotoGP ‘weaponry’ at Spielberg for the Austrian stop on the Grand Prix trail. But with Mr Pierer, Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta and KTM Motorsport Director Pit Beirer all talking about an important chapter in KTM’s story it was a decent opportunity to grab five minutes with the Austrian to ask about his own biking background …
