Bei Österreicher und Gelegenheits-Rennfahrer Andreas Burgschachner (seine Freunde nennen ihn einfach ‚Andi‘) dreht sich alles um den SUPER DUKE-Lebensstil. Nachdem er festgestellt hatte, wie gut sich das große Naked Bike für die Rennstrecke eignet, widmet er sich der Aufgabe, anderen SUPER DUKE R-Besitzern die Rennstrecken Europas zu zeigen.

Für einen Österreicher wie Andreas ist KTM natürlich keine Unbekannte. Tatsächlich wuchs er nur unweit des KTM-Hauptquartiers in Mattighofen auf und obwohl er erst mit 18 mit dem Motorradfahren begann, hat Andreas seine Fähigkeiten auf der Rennstrecke im Sattel seiner KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R des Modelljahres 2020 verfeinert.

Für Andi fährt man mit einer SUPER DUKE nicht einfach eine KTM – es gehe vielmehr darum, sich einem völlig neuen Lebensstil zu verschreiben. Er lebe den Leitspruch „GETDUKED“ jeden Tag und gebe immer 110 %.

Mehr noch: Andi gibt zu Protokoll, dass die SUPER DUKE- und KTM-Gemeinschaft seine Begeisterung noch gesteigert haben. „Es gibt so viele fanatische KTM-Fans, die die Marke KTM verinnerlicht haben. Diese Fahrer besitzen viel Wissen und lehnen eine Einladung zu einer Fahrt nie ab“, so Andi.
Dieses Gemeinschaftsgefühl motivierte Andreas dazu, eine WhatsApp-Gruppe für SUPER DUKE-Fahrer vor Ort zu gründen, mit Hilfe derer sie sich zu Ausfahrten verabreden. Bald schon war die Gruppe auf 170 ‚SUPER DUKERS‘ angewachsen, die dort Tipps, Videos und technische Informationen austauschen.

Viele dieser Fahrer – so Andreas – peitschen ihre SUPER DUKES für ihr Leben gerne um Rennstrecken, sodass nicht weniger als 40 erfahrene KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R-Fahrer an einem bevorstehenden Freien Fahren in Brno teilnehmen werden. Das sollte dafür sorgen, dass die Reihen-4-Zylinder aus Furcht in der Box bleiben.
