Los Angeles sizzler!
The 2014 AMA Supercross series launched in LA last Saturday and what a party for the Red Bull KTM Factory team.
Ken Roczen is still likely to be buzzing from a fantastic rookie victory in the premier 450SX class and heading team-mate Ryan Dungey across the line at Anaheim 1 in the first of seventeen rounds in the tough but spectacular sport. Supercross is one of the most-watched motorcycle racing championships even though the series – celebrating its fortieth anniversary in 2014 – does not leave the confines of North America where it is revered.
Roczen, the 2013 West Coast 250SX Champion, drilled the KTM 450 SX-F to first position in his maiden outing in the 450SX division and was several seconds ahead of Dungey who pushed past Chad Reed for the second step of the podium.
In the 250SX competition Jason Anderson gave KTM the Anaheim clean sweep by defeating Cole Seely and Zach Osborne. Red Bull KTM Rookie Dean Ferris earned 14th overall with the KTM 250 SX-F in his first-ever career supercross race.
