The ADVENTURE goes further

The Museo Soumaya in Mexico City played host to the Latin American launch of the new KTM 1290 SUPER ADVENTURE and KTM 1050 ADVENTURE recently. The KTM BLOG was in attendance.

Surrounded by 66,000 pieces of exquisite, valuable art in the most visited museum in the heart of Mexico City, the new 1290 SUPER ADVENTURE and 1050 ADVENTURE were launched to KTM importers and dealers along with members of the press from nine countries in Latin America in April.

The KTM BLOG was at the venue for the start of the two-day event, held in the Museo Soumaya’s distinctive Plaza Carso building, owned by once the world’s wealthiest man – Carlos Slim. With our hands firmly placed within our pockets, the stunning location for the premier was not to distract from the presented machines but for them to also be considered as works of art for their sheer abilities and technical strengths.

The invited guests were treated to a concentrated injection of ‘orange juice’ to bring them up to speed with the current status of the many activities happening within the World of KTM. After that, it was time for the covers to be pulled off the two living works of art stood before the assembled audience, leading into an explanation about the wide range of features and benefits of the 1290 and 1050.

Of course, as a company of riders making bikes for riders, no KTM presentation is complete without a dynamic demonstration of the machines and representatives from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico and Peru were able to complete a 250km mini adventure on both machines ahead of them arriving at dealers.

KTM 1290 SUPER ADVENTURE

Diego Borgo (KTM marketing coordinator for Latin America) said: “This event was not only to present the new ADVENTURE models, but also a great opportunity to show these countries what KTM stands for. Like most places around the world, the brand is very well known for its offroad motorcycles, but we are pushing hard to show exactly what KTM offers across all disciplines and engine capacities.”

“While the naked DUKE range is doing very well in Latin America, there is already a very hard-core group of ADVENTURE fans using the 1190 ADVENTURE and 1190 ADVENTURE Rs to take advantage of great riding in these gorgeous countries.”

To see behind the scenes of the event and to be inspired by the roads and landscapes around the Temoaya area that – like us – just make you want to ride them.

Following on from this grand introduction, each country within this region will host its own national events in due course in order to allow more riders to experience the new 1290 SUPER ADVENTURE and 1050 ADVENTURE.
