‘Get Serious with Dungey’ is a brand new, short video series that links KTM’s innovative 2023 SX line-up of dirtbikes with some of the experiences, stories and tips provided by the 4-time AMA Supercross and 3-time AMA Pro Motocross premier class champion. What does episode 1 reveal?

When it comes to creating the recipe for top flite racing success Ryan Dungey is a master chef. The 32-year-old proved his class and competitiveness by returning to AMA motocross racing action this summer after retiring in 2017; #5 was right up-to-pace and was on the fringe of the 450 SX podium at Pala in Southern California. It was a staggering comeback for an athlete that won everything the AMA had to offer and established an unmatchable standard for dedication, consistency, and performance. But Dungey still had some fire in the belly and used KTM’s brand new KTM 450 SX-F to train and successfully re-enter the 450 MX gate.

Ryan’s prolificacy and continuing link with KTM (he delivered the first supercross premier class Main Event success for the company exactly ten years ago and then captured three 450 SX titles with Red Bull KTM) meant he was the ideal subject for a fresh video series delving into the intricacies and demands of this punishing sport.

Dungey not only highlights the key upgrades and developments across the 2023 KTM SX range but explains why elements such as the new chassis concept, latest generation of WP Suspension equipment and refined ergonomics are such key requirements for riders.

In the first instalment below – and through an intimate interview setting coupled with some decent production values and copious action shots – Ryan goes through the criteria of preparation and support athletes at his level must have in place. The right mentality and physicality is essential to match any ambition and there are many sub-factors involved; like training, nutrition, moral backing and testing sessions to build what racers like to call ‘the ideal package’.
