Seven years ago motocross icon – and Red Bull KTM MX2 Team Manager – Stefan Everts kickstarted his ‘Everts and Friends’ spectacle; a one day charity event with a host of famous motocrossers and icons doing daft things on a track in Belgium to raise money for over half a dozen local charities. The 2013 edition of the event took place in bright sunshine at the Genk circuit….
…and a flock of public paid an entrance fee to see the likes of Tony Cairoli, Jeffrey Herlings, Jordi Tixier, Glen Coldenhoff, Ken De Dycker, Rui Goncalves, Kevin Strijbos, Jeremy Van Horebeek, Joel Roelants, Dean Ferris, Gautier Paulin and even Formula One star Kimi Raikkonen dress up in costumes and participate in races that involves bicycles and 85cc machines (Herlings won the 85cc contest!).
Raikkonen’s presence was the surprise factor for this year’s meeting but the Finn is an avid motocross fan – evidenced by his FIM Motocross World Championship IceOne race team.
