Team Orange: Ready to pounce

Will they get it this time? The all-orange Dutch squad will line up using powerful KTM offroad bikes in the MX of Nations; the country versus country motocross race that kicks off on Sunday at Matterley Basin.

“A pure Motocross bike …” talking about the factory KTM 450 SX-F

When Tony Cairoli crossed the finish line at the Dutch Grand Prix earlier this month he completed the set for the KTM 450 SX-F: AMA Supercross, Motocross and now the MXGP title. We asked one of the technicians at the forefront of the bike’s development in Grand Prix about the journey …

Controlling the racing chessboard

Robert Jonas works side-by-side with Pit Beirer in deciding a whole host of KTM’s racing strategy, particularly for offroad, so we sat down to ask what it was like in an often harsh world of plans, contracts and gambles …

The Cup from Hell

The North Loop (“Nordschleife”) of the Nurburgring is one of the most famous, and probably the most notorious, of all race tracks in the world. The Nordschleife itself is more than 21 kilometers in length, but if we include the grand-prix circuit completed during the 80s, then a complete lap extends over 24 kilometers. As luck would have it, the VLN motorsport club (“Verein Langstrecke Nürburgring” – the Nurburgring Endurance Club) has for decades been hosting the largest and most popular race series in the world at this most extraordinary of all race tracks. And a really spectacular treat was added in the middle of this season, the “KTM X-BOW CUP powered by MICHELIN”.

Secrets of a teenage holeshotter (or not)

There is little doubt that Jorge Prado is the most sensational starter in the FIM Motocross World Championship. In his first Grand Prix year the sixteen year old Spaniard is set to take home the Fox Holeshot Award with fourteen distinctions so far from thirty-four motos on his works KTM 250 SX-F … we wanted to find out how.

Sharpening the package: FREERIDE goes 250

Rarely has a slice of the motorcycle market been so well described by a single word. ‘FREERIDE’ was a segment created by KTM for a motorcycle that blended Enduro and Trial traits and enticed riders of all levels to enjoy offroad without pressure and with the fun factor pushed to the fore. Now the company has overseen the arrival of a new 250 …

Interview of the Month: Mike Leitner – Moving the MotoGP™ puzzle pieces

What’s it like to build and govern a MotoGPTM setup from scratch? We grabbed some time with the man at the peak of the Red Bull KTM operation to find out.

#inthisyear1997: KTM presents the first LC4-ADVENTURE

Those who want to travel far and fast don’t need a lot, but they do need the best. KTM builds ADVENTURE series bikes for touring enthusiasts, and has been doing so for precisely 20 years now. At KTM, ADVENTURE means much more than a big tank or a chrome-plated exhaust, and bikes adorned with stickers reminiscent of Rally successes – ADVENTURE has been KTM’s philosophy since 1997, back when the 640 LC4 ADVENTURE made its debut.
