No doubt the factory riders of KTM were not very happy when they found out their ‘babies’ were being turned over to a bunch of journalists for a day. But a chance to try out the powerful machines of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing on the famous Eurocircuit in Valkenswaard is a unique opportunity that no journalist wants to miss.
He just had to score four more points this weekend at the last Grand Prix of the year, but Jorge Prado can already call himself the new MX2 World Champion. An injury forced title-contender Pauls Jonass to undergo an operation and prevented his chances of defending the MX2 crown in Imola, Italy. Just before this unexpected turn, we sat down with the Spanish Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider to fire a few questions in his direction.
There are plenty of just a bit too serious interviews on our MotoGP heroes, so instead we thought we’d keep it nice and casual. We met up with Pol Espargaró and Bradley Smith in the Red Bull Hospitality to do a little quiz. The KTM duo had to guess each other’s favorites, and for every right answer they scored a point. There is little doubt that Jorge Prado is the most sensational starter in the FIM Motocross World Championship. In his first Grand Prix year the sixteen year old Spaniard is set to take home the Fox Holeshot Award with fourteen distinctions so far from thirty-four motos on his works KTM 250 SX-F … we wanted to find out how.
Racers regularly credit the team for their achievements and in 2017 the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing crew in MXGP has been chiming in sixth gear by leading both MX2 and MXGP categories all season. We journeyed behind the scenes to find out a bit more about the other ‘cogs’ of the machine that are making it all happen on the track.
