Ten years ago David Knight clinched the overall victory at the 2005 International Six Days Enduro held in Slovakia. This year the three-time Enduro World Champion is headed back to Slovakia, having been selected to represent Great Britain in the 90th running of the ISDE in Košice …
It was 20 years ago that the starting flag first dropped on the Erzberg Rodeo – the 21st race will be hosted from 4th to 7th June 2015. This dirt track race in the ore mine has enjoyed cult status for many years. In 2005 Britain´s David Knight won the notorious Red Bull Hare Scramble for the first time on KTM.
As good as it gets – exactly ten years ago, the KTM Enduro Team came away victorious across the board. KTM factory riders Ivan Cervantes from Spain, Samuli Aro from Finland, and David Knight from Great Britain won the Enduro World Championship overwhelmingly in all three classes. Moreover, the three world-class riders in the team managed by Fabio Farioli and Kari Tiainen didn’t even need any points from the final round held in the Italian Enduro stronghold of Bergamo.
David Knight MBE is perhaps one of the more outspoken riders in Enduro, and he’s certainly a favourite with the fans. The 36-year-old Manxman once dominated everything he raced in and is a real powerhouse on a motorcycle.
Citius, altius, fortius – this motto equally applies for Olympia and motorsport. In Europe the Erzberg race meets all requirements of the term “higher” – for 20 years now!
